What is High Pressure Tanning?
It all sounds so confusing High Pressure, Low Pressure, Medium Pressure.
It all has to do with how the tanning lamp is built. High Pressure beds have lamps that
are short 4” - 6” (inches not feet) long and they are actually built under pressure.
Thats it! When you have that High Pressure lamp filtered through the special glass it
produces almost 100% UVA. UVA Tans you deeper, Tans you darker and Tans last
longer! That is what makes it so special. You can only get High Pressure Tanning with
those short High Pressure Lamps.
All other beds with long florescent lamps are low pressure in-fact they are built under a
vacuum so it is really low pressure. These lamps can produce High Performance
tanning but NOT High Pressure tanning.
Oh and “Medium” Pressure Tanning - That part was a joke, there is no such
thing. It is either a High Pressure Lamp or a Vacuum Lamp, there is nothing in
between. You can have a Hybrid bed with both kinds of lamps, but it doesn’t make it a
High Pressure Bed. We have beds with Vacuum Lamps and High Pressure Facial Lamps
and these truly are High Performance Beds but not High Pressure Beds.
